Utility Maintenance/Equipment Operator/Driver

Position Objectives

Must be able to operate Heavy Equipment & drive truck.  Equipment Operator will load open top trucks with Recyclables, Cardboard & Glass. This position will also be responsible for keeping the yard clean and free of debris.  Must have mechanical knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment and trucks, with the ability to work on all equipment.  Knowledge of light construction and carpentry is desired. Position will also supervise Inmates and Community Service workers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Driving and Operating Class B heavy trucks, front end loaders, forklifts and any other equipment that is associated with this position. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Performs all daily safety equipment checks and operator maintenance of above equipment. Reports all public complaints/concerns to Public Services Director.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports to Public Services Manager

 

ENVIRONMENTAL:

Outside 95% Inside 5%

Minimum Requirements

Experience in driving/operating heavy equipment required.

Class B CDL required.
