The McDowell County Tourism Development Authority is an independent government agency created in 1986 to promote tourism in the County.  The Authority operates a visitor center employing an Executive Director and support staff. 

 

Visitors know the department as The Blue Ridge Traveler.  Their visitor center is located at 91 South Catawba Avenue in Old Fort, NC and is open Monday through Saturday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, except on holidays.  Follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
