Shooting Range Office Manager

Position Objectives

This position is assigned to the McDowell County Parks and Recreation Department. Work hours will routinely be Monday through Saturday and occasionally evening and partial weekend days. Physical requirements are standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, and working in an office environment. 

 

The person in this position will serve as a Shooting Range Office Manager during all hours of operation.  Overseeing all aspects of the Range Office including but not limited to; Opening the Shooting Range Office, providing customer service, checking in customers and operating a Point of Sales system.  Other specific duties and responsibilities will be discussed with applicant at the interview process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1.  Assist with the Range Supervisor in daily execution of a safe and effective Range Programs for all segments, groups, ages, and interest levels. 
  2.  Maintain and establish productive relationships with customers (the Public), including having professional and courteous communications. 
  3.  Assist with ensuring the facility is opened, closed and staffed according to schedule. 
  4.  Maintain calendar of upcoming events 
  5. Operate Center POS software and train all staff on it 
  6. Sell Memberships and Retail inventory 
  7.  Stock and Count inventory 
  8. Submit requests for special orders 
  9. Run end of day POS reports and submit to Finance. 
  10. Perform end of day secured inventory shelving 
  11.  Keep center sanitary and neat 
  12. Perform all computer functions as assigned by RSO Supervisor 
  13.  Maintain productive relationships with established customers 
  14.  Attend training as required 
  15. Work as a team player with all staff 
  16. Maintain a professional (personal) appearance.
  17. All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

Candidate must possess a valid NC driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1.Ability to develop and maintain relationships with the public

2.Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.

 

Physical Demands and Working Enviroment

Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping. feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

 

Must be able to perform light work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and/or a negligble amount of force constantly to move objects.

 

Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, perform accounting tasks, operate a computer terminal, do extensive reading, and drive a motor vehicle.
