Position Objectives

Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00 am - 2:00 PM. Hours are variable.

 

This job will be primarily responsible for custodial duties at the McDowell County Public Library, which includes the Marion and Old Fort Library. This job will also provide support services to other McDowell County Facilities including the Courthouse and Administrative offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Keeping buildings clean and orderly.

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. 

Clean interior surfaces of buildings such as walls, ceilings, windows, etc. 

Empty waste receptacles and dispose of refuse. 

Dust and polish furniture. 

Moving seating in rooms for special functions or meetings. 

Perform outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, and picking up trash. 

 

Minimum Requirements

Effective Communication Skills.
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to work with the public.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening
NC Driver's License

Desirable Training and Experience

Experience in basic custodial/janitorial duties preferred.
