Beer and Wine Privilege Licenses

WHO MUST OBTAIN A BEER & WINE PRIVILEGE LICENSE?

 

If you operate a business in McDowell County that engages in the selling of beer and wine, you are required to obtain and pay a tax for a privilege license. If your business has multiple locations in McDowell County, you will need to obtain separate licenses for each location. Local licenses are non-transferable. If your establishment is located in the City of Marion or the Town of Old Fort, the County will not issue a license until you have received from the City or Town the applicable license for that activity. McDowell County Beer and Wine Privilege Licenses expire on April 30th and must be renewed by May 1st of each year.   NCGS 105-113.78   NCGS 105-113.70

 

Licensing Fees

Once you submit the required documents, our office will contact you to let you know the amount of your fee. The license fee is not prorated. NCGS 105-113.78
