Receptionist - Customer Service Clerk Part-Time

Hours: Friday (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), Saturday (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), Sunday (10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.). Sunday hours are seasonal and may change as visitor needs change.
- Assist visitors in person and by telephone, answering tourism related questions, providing directions, lodging property details, events, and trail information. Create visitor itineraries by using print media, maps, brochures, guides, and the internet.
- Prepare and process visitor mailings, restock product inventory, maintain product inventory records, and re-order product inventory as needed.
- Answer and screen office telephone calls, taking messages when necessary.
- Performing retail sales duties when needed. Each sale includes accepting cash payments, documenting each sale, issuing and maintaining sales receipt records, and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
- Perform daily updates on local/area attractions regarding their conditions and availability. Local and regional state parks, federally managed trails, the Blue Ridge Parkway and other venues of interest that would impact a visitor’s experience.
- Duties require use of a copier/scanner/printer.
- Maintain a visitor log.
- Fulfill bulk visitor guide requests shipped to NC area visitor centers and attraction locations.
Positive Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good listening and problem solving skills.
Adaptability, initiative, and stress tolerance.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
A current NC Driver's License.
High School Diploma or GED.
Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required.
