Position Objectives

The senior center is seeking job applicants for one part-time position (32.00 Hours) in food service operations. Employee will prepare and serve food and are also involved in cleaning activities which facilitate good sanitation and food service. Employee will supervise additional kitchen staff in completing daily work assignments. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Employee job duties include supervision of two kitchen staff employees. Additional duties include preparing and cooking meats, vegetables and other food items using commercial kitchen equipment. Peels, washes, and cleans vegetables for kitchen use; prepares salads, slices pies, and performs similar tasks as assigned. Carries canned and fresh fruits, meats, and vegetables from the storeroom to the kitchen; transports breads, rolls, desserts, and other items to specified areas; transfers food items from cooking utensils to steam carts; and delivers cooked food to serving areas. Employee also takes temperatures on prepared food items to ensure food safety. Scrubs, scours, and washes cooking utensils and pans; cleans and mops kitchen; and cleans and organizes food storage areas.

Desirable Training and Experience

Prefer job candidates with 2 years of experience in food service or related field.
